  1. What is Video On Demand?

Video On Demand allows you to rent movies through your television at your convenience. Watch them when you want, rather than waiting for pre-designated start times. Movies are accessed through a digital set-top box and your television. Just like with a DVD player or VCR, you have complete control, including the ability to fast-forward, rewind, pause or stop a movie. You can view movies you rent as often as desired during a 24-hour period.

  2. How many movies can I rent at one time?

There is no limit on the number of movies you can rent at one time.

  3. If I get to the end of a video and want to watch it again, can I restart at the beginning?

Yes, if your viewing period has not expired, you may watch the movie again.

  4. What if I watched only part of the movie I ordered and didn't get to watch the rest before it expired?

You will have to order the movie again. Refer to the Information Screens for remaining rentals and viewing times.

  5. How do I return to watching a Video On Demand rental after I've tuned to another channel?

Press the VOD button. From the Video On Demand main menu, choose the movie you wish to resume watching. You can either begin watching where you left off (using the Resume feature), or start the movie over(using the Restart feature).

  6. Do my Parental Control settings stay the same for Video On Demand purchases as with other features of the TELUS TV Interactive Program Guide?

Yes. If you use the Parental Control feature to block content by rating, then all regular broadcast programs and Video On Demand programming that have been rated will be blocked according to your specifications.

  7. What is the difference between VOD and Pay-per-View (PPV)?

VOD gives you access to a huge library of films, both new movies and popular favourites, which you can rent and watch at a time convenient to you. You can also pause, reverse, and fast-forward a VOD program as you could a DVD program.

A PPV program, on the other hand, starts at a specific time that is set by the service provider. You cannot pause, reverse, or fast forward a PPV program, and if you are interrupted part way through your program, you cannot restart or pause it. You can only view your PPV program once.
