How are photo contest winners determined?

While a theme is being voted on, members have 14 days to vote for their 10 favourite photos. At the end of this period, the photos and names of the participants that have received the highest number of votes are displayed. Prizes may vary.

Do I have to be a TELUS Photos registered member to build my photo album or to participate in the photo contest?

Yes. Only TELUS Photos registered members can create, edit, share or delete a photo album or participate in the photo contest. To register, click on the "My account" button and fill in the form. A confirmation message containing a validation key will be sent to the e-mail address you have specified during the registration process.
It is important that you click on that validation key in order to activate your account.

How are votes calculated in the photo contest?

Each TELUS Photos registered member has a total of 10 votes that can be allocated to their favourite photos during the 14-day period where themes are being voted on. Members cannot vote more than once for a photo or vote for their own photos. Votes are not transferable to the next period, so they are lost when the voting period ends.

Do I have to use my TELUS e-mail address to take advantage of my 1 GB of free storage?

No. Anyone subscribing to TELUS Photos automatically gets 1 GB of free disk space, no matter which e-mail address they entered.

How many photos can I upload in my albums with 1 GB of free storage?

One gigabyte (GB) is the equivalent of 1024 MB. Assuming an average of 2 MB per photo, you would be able to store approximately 500 photos in your albums.

Can I share my albums with other people?

Yes, and this is true for public and private albums. To share an album with somebody else, click on "Share My Photos" and follow the instructions on your screen. By sharing an album, you allow one or more people to browse through the photos contained in this album for a set period of time. These people will only have access to the albums you have decided to share with them. You can increase, decrease or delete this sharing at any time by using the functions attached to the desired album.

Is there a limit to the number of photos I can submit to the contest?

Yes. Each TELUS Photos registered member can now submit a maximum of photos per theme, each theme lasting a total of 14 days. This privilege is not transferable to the next theme. We have decided to decrease the number of photos that members are allowed to submit for each theme in order to guarantee the quality of the photos submitted, to reduce the chances that the contest is tampered with and to avoid receiving multiple versions of the same photo.

What happens if I stop being a TELUS Internet Access client?

Nothing at all. You will still receive your 1 GB of free storage, no matter which e-mail address you have entered during the subscription process and whether or not you are still a TELUS Internet Access client. To view or edit your profile, click on the "My account" tab.

Is my storage limit being deducted each time I submit a photo to the contest?

No. Unless you submit a photo that has already been uploaded to one of your albums, and for which you storage limit has already been deducted, photos submitted to the contest do not affect your personal storage limit in any way.
