FAQs for myTELUS NEWS
Can I personalize the main News page? No, the main news home page (mytelus.com/news) cannot be changed. However, in the navigation on the top you can quickly choose the specific news areas you're interested in: Canada, for national news; Alberta or British Columbia for your specific local news; or World, Entertainment or Travel news. How do I find the news that interests me? In the navigation at the top of the each page in the News section, including the main News page (mytelus.com/news), you can quickly choose the specific news area you're interested in: Canada, for national news; Alberta or British Columbia for your specific local news; or World, Entertainment or Travel news. To see everything in our news area at glance, you can also use our News site map. To provide as complete local news coverage as possible, we have partnered with the BC Newspaper Group to provide local news specific to many of British Columbia's communities. I'd like to see more local news from Alberta. So would we. We are always looking to enrich our local content, and are always on the lookout for new partners in this area. In the meantime, we do have reporters in Alberta who file Alberta local stories on a regular basis. These are found in the Alberta section of News. Why are some news stories repeated? To provide important news quickly, it is necessary to automate with news feeds. This means that almost as soon as a news story is filed, it is online. We receive many of our news stories electronically 24hours from newswire services. With breaking news, often stories are reposted with more details as the story unfolds. While a story appears to be repeated, we think it is worth tolerating in order to make news available as soon as it breaks. We apologize for the appearance of repetition and will continue to work at keeping these to a minimum. Why are there typographical errors in certain news sections? As most of our stories come from live news feeds, the writers often post stories in a hurry to get the word out as soon as possible. While we do proofread the stories, we think it is best to ensure that our readers get the stories as they break, consequently some stories will go live before being proofread. If you spot any serious errors, please alert us through our contact us page (found at the bottom of each page in the footer series of links). |
