MOVIES

Why can't I find movie times for my favourite theatre?

Though we work closely with our theatre listings partner to ensure the most complete listings possible, due to some theatres not updating their listings in time for our deadlines, or not providing listings in an electronic format, we are sometimes not 100% complete. We will continue to work at this with our data providers.

Based on your listings, I showed up at a theatre and discovered the movie was playing at a different time or not at all. What happened?

While our listings are accurate most of the time, we can't guarantee their accuracy. Errors sometimes occur, and theatres have a habit of making last-minute listings changes that are not always communicated to us. As stated on our movies pages - and in particular if you're traveling a long way to a theatre - it's a good idea to double-check times by calling theatres or consulting their official sites.

You review many movies, but some movies listed include no reviews and very little information. Why?

Using a variety of sources, we review as many movies as possible. Some movies - usually less popular or on a limited run - are not reviewed.

I seldom agree with your reviewers' opinions and ratings for movies. Why do they seem to dislike many popular movies and give three or four stars to less popular or foreign films?

Unlike the general public, movie reviewers seldom get to choose what they see - it's sometimes their job to see movies they would rather not see. Our reviewers strive to give viewers an idea of whether a movie works for its intended audience - and they won't hesitate to be critical if they feel the movie doesn't deliver. Ultimately, not all reviewers will agree with our reviewer ratings - so don't hesitate to contribute to our user ratings.
