Have a question that is not answered here? Send it to us using our contact us form.

Why did mytelus.com decide to launch a new home page?

Over the past few weeks, we've invited you to take a look at our new homepage, the first step in a new-look myTELUS to be rolled out, section by section, over the next few months. Based on your feedback, we've already added some features to the new homepage - and we'll be working to deliver even more of what you want.

You'll notice that our new homepage includes a dramatically different design and a shift towards entertainment and technology features that better reflect our customers' demands and what today's TELUS has to offer.

Watch for these exciting changes, to be introduced now through early 2007:

  • Improved, new-look Games and Music sections
  • Multimedia fun, including video and audio
  • Interactive tools, including commenting/rating of stories and blogs
  • A Photos section featuring weekly contests that allow you to submit your best stuff and vote for the best images
  • A Technology and Lifestyle section designed to help you stay on top of technology and what it can do for you
  • An Arts & Celebrities section that adds some pop to our entertainment news
  • The addition of top-notch Personals and Classifieds sections
  • A more national presence, including a French language/French content option.

The new myTELUS homepage is too big for my screen. How can I make it fit?

The new homepage was designed for a minimum 1024 by 728 pixel resolution, which is the minimum size used by the vast majority of myTELUS users. It also reflects a rapidly declining number of Internet users who still employ smaller screen resolutions, as much more information fits in the 1024 by 728 format.

If your monitor supports the larger resolution, you can adopt the larger resolution of 1024 by 728.

Instructions for Windows:
- Right click on your desktop, and select "properties"
- Click on the "settings" tab
- Slide the "screen area" to 1024x728

Instructions for Macintosh:
From the Apple menu, select Control Panels. You will either have the option Monitors & Sound or Monitors.

If the option is Monitors & Sound:
- Open the Monitor icon.
- From the list of available resolutions, select the resolution you wish to use. Your screen resolution will change instantly.
- Close the Monitors and Sound window.

If the option is Monitors:
- Ensure that the Show pull-down menu option is set to Recommended.
- From the list of available resolutions, select the resolution you wish to use. Your screen resolution will change instantly.
- Close the Monitors window.

What happened to the personalization on the new homepage?

Depending on customer demand, we may bring back some or all of the homepage personalization options that were available on the old homepage, including the sports scoreboard, stock ticker and ability to select individual news and sports content.

Please note that if you want to retrieve your bookmarks from the old homepage, you can access them temporarily by going to the old homepage at www.mytelus.com/home. No other personalization choices, however, are transferable to the new page.

However, for now, we offer these personalization options:

  • Weather information, which you can personalize by selecting the 'Change region' link in the top right corner of the page, beneath the weather icon
  • News regionalization. Click on the 'Regional' news link in the 'In the news' area, then select the 'change region' link that appears above the headlines
  • Movies regionalization. Scroll down the homepage to find the Movies search box, where you'll see a 'Regionalize movies' link

Please note that you can still regionalize the news and sports pages from those sections, and your portfolio tracker from the money section.

Is my browser compatible with the new myTELUS homepage?

The new homepage has been designed to work in most popular modern browsers. It's been tested in the following browsers, which all but a small percentage of our visitors use:
- Internet Explorer 7 and 6.0
- Firefox 1.0.6, Firefox 1.5.7

If you're not using one of these browsers, you may want to upgrade your browser. We recommend that you use the most recent version of your browser.

In addition, your browser settings must allow cookies and javascript for some features of the website to function properly (e.g. to change type size).

If you are using one of these browsers and are still having issues, please describe it in detail so we can investigate further.

What username and password am I supposed to use on myTELUS?

We realize this is confusing and we are working toward using one username and password on TELUS Web sites in the future.

Note also that while you can no longer sign-in to mytelus.com from the portal homepage, you can sign in from several other sections of the site, including Movies, Sports and Newsletters.

Some sections of myTELUS provided by our partners may require you to use a special username and/or password for that section only (ex. Automotive).
