Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel

Mariah Carey
By: Beyoncé Burnett

Carey's career famously crashed with the movie Glitter and 2002 album Charmbracelet. But ever since her 2005 comeback album The Emancipation of Mimi, Carey's been on one helluva roll. Executive-produced by Mariah and, more importantly, Antonio L.A. Reid, Memoirs is a consistent and extremely polished R'n'B album of mostly slow-tempo jams that one expects from Reid. The album includes the hit Obsessed and a pretty good cover of the Foreigner classic I Want to Know What Love Is. There's also a second disc of four remixes of Obsessed, as well as a fake Elle magazine booklet boasting about Carey's career, wardrobe, marriage to Nick Cannon and - let's not forget - her new perfume.
