TORONTO - Nickelback and R&B singer Danny Fernandes are the leading nominees for next month's MuchMusic Video Awards with five nods each.
Vancouver punk poppers Marianas Trench are next with four nominations.
The Jonas Brothers will perform and host the June 21 show, known for its street-party atmosphere outside MuchMusic headquarters on Toronto's Queen Street West.
Lady Gaga, who received two nominations, is the only other performer announced so far.
Fernandes and Nickelback will battle it out for video of the year, along with k-os, Marianas Trench and the Stills, who received two nominations.
Rapper Classified, who recently dropped his 12th disc, "Self Explanatory," received three nominations, as did Bedouin Soundclash, Theory of a Deadman, the Midway State and k-os.
Other homegrown multiple nominees include Shad, Lights, Shiloh, Karl Wolf, Elise Estrada and Kardinal Offishall.
The Jonas Brothers, Britney Spears, Lil Wayne and Katy Perry received two nods each.
Pop-punk group Hedley took home a leading four trophies from last year's rain-soaked show.
