Faith Hill was born and raised in Mississippi. Her talent was apparent at a very young age and she started singing at local churches. At the age of 19, Hill left her hometown and moved to Nashville with the hope of launching her musical career. Hill teamed up with other country singers and did her first stage performance along with singer Gary Burr. In 1988, Faith married songwriter Dan Hill and took his last name. Shortly after, she was discovered by a record label and signed a contract with the record company Warner Brothers.
Faith Hill started her career in 1993, with the album Take Me As I Am. The album was very successful and the single Wild One was on the charts for more than one month. In addition, the song Piece of My Heart was also a hit. The album sold more than 3 million copies, and Faith Hill’s career was propelled. In 1994, Faith Hill was divorced, but kept her husband’s name.
The country singer released her second album, It Matters to Me, in 1995. She had another successful album which sold 4 million copies. The tracks Someone Else's Dream and It Matters to Me were 2 of the 5 songs that made it to the top ten in the United States. In 1996, Hill met her present husband, country singer, Tim McGraw.
After three years out of the spotlight, Faith Hill made a comeback in 1998 with the album, Faith. The album sold more copies than her first two albums. The songs This Kiss and Let Me Let Go were played incessantly on the radio. After a triumphant record launch, Hill went on tour internationally.
In 1999, the album Breathe was released. The single The Way You Love Me was number one on the charts. In 2000, the album had sold more than 8 million copies. Hill won three Grammy awards for this album, one of which was for Best Country Album of the Year. The following year, the singer launched one of her biggest successes entitled There You’ll Be: The Best of Faith Hill, available exclusively in Europe and Australia.
In 2002, Faith Hill launched the album, Cry. For the first time since the beginning of her career, Hill had an album that was not a big success. It sold only 2 million copies. However, she still won a Grammy in 2003 for Best Female Country Vocal Performance for the song Cry.
Three years later Hill released the much-anticipated album Fireflies. It was a smashing success. The singles Mississippi Girl, Sunshine and Summertime, as well as Like We Never Loved At All were popular tracks. In 2006, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw did the Soul2Soul II Tour.
In 2007, Faith Hill did a greatest hits album entitled, Faith Hill: The Hits. This boxed set included a DVD showing the artist live at many unedited shows. There were no concert dates announced for the fall of 2007.

Virgos are modest and do not expect praise for themselves, but moreso for the work they do. Virgos admit their shortcomings easily, and are open to change.
All right, classic rockers to this side of the room, the rest of you, subscribe to NME. The mag trashes Wolfmother - who, granted, sound like old-school Black Sabbath and Led Zep - as "Australian mock-rockers." Fans were worried that Wolfmother would self-destruct with the 2008 departure of bassist and keyboardist Chris Ross and drummer Myles Heskett.
