My city always reverts back to the default city. What can I do to change this?

Your browser?s security settings might be set in a way that all cookies are automatically deleted. If this is the case, you will not be able to personalize your homepage and the city you choose for weather, for example, will always revert back to the original value, which is Vancouver for myTELUS.

Here's how you can modify your browser?s security settings to enable cookies, or to prevent the deletion of cookies before their expiry date. Choose the appropriate procedure for your browser.

Internet Explorer*
1. Click on "Tools" and "Internet Options".
2. Click on the "Privacy" tab.
3. Move the slider so that the privacy settings are set to "Medium".

Firefox*
1. Click on "Tools" and "Options".
2. Click on "Privacy".
3. Make sure "Accept cookies from sites" and "Accept third-party cookies" checkboxes are checked.
4. Make sure you select "they expire" on the pull-down menu.

How do I access Webmail, Phonebook and Help?

Links to these services are still located in the header;
look to the upper-right section of the site.

How do I access Google Maps?

By clicking on the search tool's "Maps" tab located in the upper-right section of the site, and by entering the city name or postal code.

Do I need to log in to customize the site?

No. However, please note that in the near future, you will be able
to log in to enjoy the benefits of new features and applications.

Is there a risk I might lose my personalized homepage?

No. The settings you have made to your myTELUS homepage are saved on your computer. Unless you delete "cookies" those changes will be maintained every time you open your browser. Note, though, that some privacy and security software products will automatically erase cookies. You can modify the settings in those programs to protect any files with information about your personal preferences.

What has changed with the new myTELUS site?

First is the fresh, new design that provides you with control over how you want your myTELUS homepage to look, and the content that you want to appear there. Many more exciting changes are to come.

What new content is available on the new site?

• News highlights, courtesy of Canadian Press and CBC.
• Sports highlights, courtesy of ESPN, Sports Illustrated and CBS Sports.
• Financial highlights, courtesy of Financial Post, CNN Money and Financial Times.
• Weather conditions and local forecasts, courtesy of The Weather Network.
• Hyper local content for Vancouver (e.g., Georgia Straight, Vancouver Sun, Province, The Tyee), Calgary (Calgary Herald and The Calgary Sun) and Edmonton (Edmonton Journal and The Edmonton Sun).
• YouTube most popular videos.
• Lottery results for all Canadian provinces.

Is any content that was on the old site missing from the new one?

Yes. Some sections that were previously part of myTELUS are being removed. Several of them will be replaced by widgets from the content library that you can add to your personalized homepage. If there is content or information you would like to see added to the content library, just let us know.

What can I customize on the site?

You may add, delete and rearrange content on the homepage, which is accessible by clicking on the "My Home" tab.

How do I add content to a page?

1. Click on "My Home".
2. Click on "+ Add Content". A list of available content will appear.
3. Click on the content selections you'd like to add.
4. Click "Add".

How do I remove content from a page?

To remove content from a page, simply click on the small "X" at the upper-right of the content module you'd like to remove.

How do I move content around on a page?

All content is presented within modules. To move a content module, move your mouse over the module you'd click and hold the left-mouse button and drag the module to the desired location on the page.

How do I add a content page?

You can also add pages to your experience at myTELUS. Create a page of sports-related modules, for example, or specific pages for each member of your household.

1. Click on "My Home".
2. Click on "Manage tabs".
3. In the pop up window that appears, click on "Add New Tab".
4. Enter the name for the new tab.
5. Click "Save".

The new tab will appear under "My Home". Follow the directions above for adding content to your new page.

How do I remove a content page?

1. Click on "My Home".
2. Click on "Tab Control".
3. In the pop up window that appears, uncheck the box (or click "Delete") next to the page(s) you'd like to remove.
4. Click "OK" in the pop up window that appears to confirm.
5. Click "Save".

Why can't I customize all pages?

You can completely customize any new pages that you create. The right column of the homepage, however, is static as it includes valuable information and services for TELUS customers. You can modify the two left columns of the homepage.
