TELUS Play Pack Known Issues

  1. Usage limits

TELUS has monthly limits for the amount of data a high speed customer can download or upload during their billing period. This is their usage, sometimes called throughput. We monitor usage to ensure network reliability for all customers, and will contact customers if they significantly exceed their plan limits. These limits were increased during 2004 and will be monitored to ensure they are competitive.

Limits for common high speed plans are:

As a TELUS Play Pack subscriber you are entitled to an additional 1 GB usage per month.

  2. Slow game launches

During the game launching process, there are several things that are taking place in the background, such as file downloading, virtual installation and game launching. Watch the progress bar and allow a couple of minutes before making the decision to reboot or cancel the game download.
  3. Minimum requirements

Games have specific requirements in order to run smoothly (i.e., Direct X 8.0 Compliant 3D Accelerated Video Card, Open GL Driver). If you don't meet the Game Specific System Requirements you may have problems playing the game that are completely unrelated to the TELUS Games On Demand technology.
  4. Net-Meeting Remote Desktop Sharing

Net-Meeting Remote Desktop Sharing must be disabled in order for games to launch and function properly. You may be able to launch the game, but the display and behavior will be unpredictable. This is not a TELUS Games Player problem, but has to do with Direct X and therefore we cannot resolve this issue.
