Woohoo, party!

So I read what I posted (in a hurry) over the weekend and I'd like to start off by saying that I'm a bit embarrassed... yes, embarrassed of all of those spelling errors and nonsense phrases.... Honestly, I found it very hard to stay focused while so many exciting things were going on at the same time! I guess I'll just have to live with it for the rest of my life. My bad. Ha... At least I realised over the weekend that I'm not a very good "under pressure" writer... so don't worry, I'll stick to my day job!

The crowd infront of one of Osheaga stage

Now, lets' talk about Sunday night's shows! Gotan Project was so much fun... we danced like crazy! Since they were running about a half hour late and Interpol started without delay, we missed M.I.A.! But like I said; we were having so much fun that we didn't even care. We were also certain that the area, where M.I.A. was playing, was so packed that we wouldn't have seen anything anyways. Actually, I just got off the phone with my friend Julie who caught the two last songs and she confirmed that it was packed! She also said it was very cool!!! It looks like M.I.A brought a horde of crowd members up on stage with her. That must have been awesome! Come to think of it, that was actually the only show I really wanted to see and missed on Sunday. Good thing you can check out a bunch of the shows on Osheaga TV... thanks to that, I got to see a snippet of The Veils show that I missed on Saturday. I also watched their short interview...

Now, back to the shows... we were pretty far back when Interpol started. I didn't see a thing but I did hear everything very clearly. Very good show by the way! I have to admit that I don't know many of their songs but I was very excited when they played Evil, Pioneer to the Falls & No I in Threesome. So many people were singing along... including myself. Singing along is my favourite thing to do at concerts... sorry to those people who might think it's annoying! Bloc Party at OsheagaAnyhow, when only a few songs were left to the show, people started moving towards the main stage where Bloc Party was getting ready. We did the same... we headed over to get a good spot. We got pretty close but not enough for my liking. MPie was really looking forward to this show; since she didn't get to come last time they played at Metropolis. Despite the fact that it might not have been as good as when I saw them, they definitely gave an awesome show! They are so energetic & lively on stage; you can't help but jump up and down!

Overall, Osheaga was pretty good this year! Here is a quick list of what I really liked and disliked:

Dislikes: Having to choose between Martha and Au Revoir Simone, the hamburgers and the women serving them at the tent beside the VIP lounge, the incredible amount of dust and the shows I missed: The Veils, Adam Kesher, Explosions in the Sky, The Most Serene Republic and M.I.A. Oh, I also didn't like that they didn't want to give me the cap to my water bottle.

Likes: the sun on Saturday and the colder weather on Sunday, bumping into my friends all weekend long, the Arts Tent, the recycling team onsite, that baby's bum crack and the shows that I will always remember: Krief, We Are Scientist, Harvee, Gotan Project, Sixtoo, Blonde Redhead, Feist, Interpol and of course Martha Wainwright.

To all the bands, techs, volunteers and organizers... congratulations, job well done!
