It is in a small and dark studio at the bottom of an obsolete Montreal cellar that the group PLASTER was born in 2001. Formed by Alex McMahon at the keyboards and Jean-Phi Goncalves at the drums the two former music school students wanted to create electronic music using standard jazz instruments. A year later, following an encounter with bassist François Plante, the duet quickly widened its horizons.
Inspired by Djs music, the trio’s biggest strength is the energy captivating audiences to emerge themselves in a new universe of mystical groove.
Their first album FIRST AID KIT has been released in November 2005.
These three musicians have always the same great pleasure to meet each other to go on an unique musical ride. Only pure music without any concessions.
PLASTER offers an entertaining and organic cocktail of perfectly shaked electronic beats mixed with jazz spontaneity in an infectious “College Jam Band” party atmosphere.
On stage, this drink is served with strong rock energy and supported by stunning multimedia/visual effects.
