Adam Kesher

Who is Adam?

Adam Kesher was born in Bordeaux, France in the year 2002, out of the creative friendship shared by Gaëtan and Julien, two brothers torn  between various influences going from the ghostly eighties sounds of  Joy Division, The Cure and Gang of Four, to more actual rock bands such  as At the drive-in and Robocop Kraus. For two years the project sticks to an embryonic state and Adam Kesher did not perform at any live show.

In the spring 2004, eager to set themselves in the wake of their elders they start the whole scene anew, as they soon realize Adam Kesher can only have an identity of its own, Gaëtan and Julien invite their big brothers to play with them as a real band. Together they set their mind on conquering the dance floors, borrowing their motto from AC/DC, as simple and effective as it is: “WHEN I WANT I TAKE, WHEN I DON’T I BREAK”. Since then, the Kesher Brothers keep playing non-stop glorious and amazing shows, and they might as well very soon make your own body dance to their frantic songs as though you were caught in some satanic ritual…

Recently, in March 2005, the Kesher Brotherhood seeked to make the most of the passionate links uniting them. They withdrew to the small and quiet town of Cénac, South West of France, in order to work upon the recording of an infuriated 3-track Ep. They eventually summoned Tony Lash, the American figure standing behind such projects as the Dandy Warhols, Elliott Smith or even Poison Idea to take charge of the final mix and complete the work.

Now, provided with what they think is satisfactory and elaborated music, the Kesher Bros are setting out in search of some kind of a patron, or something which our contemporary minds would rather call “a label”.

Adam Kesher will perform at the Osheaga Music and Arts Festival on September 8th!
